Syrian Arab Red Crescent Responds to water Shortage in Damascus

While mainstream media insists on shedding the light on the efforts of claimers and false heroes, there are other heroes doing outstanding work on the ground, from Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), to the real Syrian Civil Defense, to many local civil and governmental society organizations and communities.

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent carried out an emergency response to water shortage in cooperation with Damascus Water Supply Authority and the International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC).

More than 125 volunteers and staff member of SARC commenced the response on the very beginning of the water shortage crises that started on Dec 26th. Up to date they managed to provide about 1306 M3 of water, via SARC water tanks, to social support centers, bakeries, sheltering centers, schools, and hospitals (Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital, the Surgical Medicine Hospital and the Ophthalmology Hospital), They also provided 416 M3 of water directly to the affected people in several areas (Kafar Sousah, Ruken Al Din, Al Mouhajrin, Dummar and Al Tijara, and others).

At the same time, SARC managed to activate the 39 emergency boreholes, that where prepared by SARC’s water team. These boreholes support the main water network and water direct distribution. It is worth mentioning that SARC teams keep holding their responsibilities to support and maintain the emergency boreholes with all needs (generators, pumps and all needed accessories).

Mainstream media continues to promote White Helmets, who have signed the agreement to depriving 6 million in Damascus from water, as humanitarians and heroes concealing the fact that they are a bunch of terrorists and actors who operate only in Al-Nusra and Qaeda areas. At the same time, narrative of this media does its best to keep away from informing the public of the efforts of SARC teams and the real Syrian Civil Defense teams that operate in all Syrian cities, without any discrimination employees and volunteers do their best to offer the optimum service to citizens in need across the country.
